Kestrel Cottage

Kestrel Cottage is a homeschool enrichment program for children ages 7-12 meeting near Nolensville. Through unit studies, nature journaling, gardening, and literature we’ll use many different hands-on experiences to engage in the learning process and encounter some of the interesting things in the world while developing friendships, fostering curiosity, and nurturing creativity.

Our Program

We embrace the idea that learning is natural to all children and that there is great value in exploring ideas and materials together, since everyone has something unique to bring to the table. We can learn as much from each other as we can learn from the focus of our study.

For the 23/24 school year, we’ll be exploring The Arts for our unit study. Exposure to visual, performing, literary, and culinary arts will allow us to be artists through the use of mulitmedia, diverse thinking, and cultural traditions. Once a month, we will switch gears and engage in a STEM challenge, with a focus on having a growth mindset.

During our literary studies, we’ll be entering the world of The Herb Fairies, as well as reading three other fun books together. We'll be spending more than half of our day outside in both structured (nature journaling, garden exploration, organized games) and unstructured (a long lunch, free play) time.

Collective Exploration

We are excited about this new opportunity to grow and learn together, and looking forward to putting our plans into action. We hope you'll join us!

We’ll be meeting on Wednesdays, from 9:30-3:30, August 16- May 15. There is a registration fee of $100 due upon enrollment, and monthly tuition is $225.
